48V Forklift Battery Price Trends: What Buyers Should Expect in the Coming Years
With adjustments to China's battery export policies, future price trends for 48V forklift batteries will become more complex. Under current policies, export tax rebate rates for battery products will be adjusted: starting in April 2026, the export tax rebate rate will be reduced from 9% to 6%; and effective January 1, 2027, export tax rebates for battery products will be eliminated.
On the other hand, there remains room for price reductions in lithium-ion batteries themselves. As production capacity for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells expands, manufacturing efficiency improves, and the supply chain matures, cell costs are likely to continue falling. Since cells account for the majority of a lithium-ion battery's cost, a decline in cell prices will drive down the overall battery price.
On the other hand, the reduction in export tax rebates will increase export costs for Chinese battery manufacturers. For export-oriented forklift lithium-ion battery companies, export tax rebates were previously used to lower overall costs.
In the future, as rebates are reduced or even eliminated, these costs may be shared between battery manufacturers and overseas customers, resulting in overseas purchase prices no longer declining steadily as they have in recent years-and potentially even leading to periodic price increases.
